How to Install in 3 Easy Steps

Power On Your Solo

Turn on your 3DR Solo Copter and Solo Controller. Wait ~60 seconds for the SoloLink WiFi network to broadcast.

Connect to Solo WiFi

On your Windows PC or laptop, connect your WiFi to SoloLink_XXXXXX (Password: sololink).

Run SoloUpdater.exe

Extract the downloaded ZIP and double-click SoloUpdater.exe. It will automatically launch the interactive guided updater in your web browser.

Why is a local updater required?

Because your 3DR Solo copter and controller reside on an isolated local network (10.1.1.10 & 10.1.1.1), the updater must run on a computer connected directly to the SoloLink WiFi network to perform the SSH firmware upload safely.

How to Connect Solo to Ground Control:

  1. Power on the Solo Controller and Solo Copter, and wait ~60 seconds.
  2. Connect your device's WiFi to SoloLink_XXXXXX (Password: sololink).
  3. Open Mission Planner, Solex, QGroundControl, or SidePilot.
  4. For Mission Planner & QGC: Choose connection type UDP on port 14550.
